Grenada hotels are popular with people who are looking to combine the luxurious with the exotic. If you are considering planning a holiday here at some point in the future then make sure you see some of the top attractions on the island. Here are five of the best that you should not miss during your stay on this gorgeous island.
1. Grand Anse Beach
There are a number of beautiful beaches to discover on the island, but none are quite as spectacular as Grand Anse Beach. This sheltered, pristine beach is nearly two miles long and is popular with both locals and tourists alike. It is located near to St George's and offers a stunning view of the capital of the island. It is famous all over the world and popular activities here include water sports, eating in the restaurants and shopping.
2. Sunnyside Gardens
This is the place to go if you want to enjoy a real tropical paradise during your stay in Grenada. Hotels located in or near to St George's are perfectly situated to allow you to explore these beautiful, well cared for gardens. You cannot just visit on your own, however, instead you have to reserve your trip through a tour guide.
3. Grand Etang Lake
This stunning volcanic lake is another of the top places to visit when you come to Grenada. Hotels may be located near to the beaches, but if you want to get away from the coast at some point then you should travel to this lake by car, where you will find peaceful and tranquil surroundings. Make sure you take a walk along the Shoreline Trail and visit the nearby Forest Reserve.
4. Concord Waterfalls
There are a number of stunning waterfalls to visit on the island but this is one of the best. It is located near St John's on the west coast and actually comprises three separate waterfalls. One of these is easy to access but for the other two you have to hike so make sure you go prepared.
5. The Carriacou Museum
This museum in Paterson Street is the place to go to discover more about the Amerindian heritage and the history of the island over the last few centuries - including the periods of British and French colonisation. There are numerous artefacts of interest to discover here.
You will never be short of things to see and do when you arrive in Grenada. Hotels on the island are luxurious and comfortable so that you will be able to see all of these attractions whilst enjoying a pampered lifestyle at the same time.
